Walk to the Worm Hole
The Worm Hole is a natural rectangular-shaped pool found in an alcove along a cliff. The Worm Hole is one of the must-visit places in the Aran Island. If the tide is too high, the Worm Hole will be totally covered with water but if the tide is low, it’s a must-see! This natural ocean water swimming pool is one of a kind, and depending on what time of year you arrive, you may see some fool-hardy locals jumping in!
Explore Dun Aonghusa
Dun Aonghusa is a clifftop fort dating back to 1100 BC. This World Heritage Site consists of three massive dry-stone walls perched on a 100-meter cliff. You have to hike to reach the fort, but the beautiful views are worth the effort!
Enjoy Traditional Irish Music at Ti Joe Wattys
Ireland is famous for its music scene. If you want to experience traditional Irish music, don’t miss Ti Joe Wattys Pub (or just Wattys). Located in the village of Kilronan, near where the ferry docks, it is one of the oldest and most traditional pubs in Inishmore. If you’re looking for cold pints, excellent music, and good craic, then this is the place for you.
Spot the Seals
Visit to a resident seal colony will add to a wonderful and fulfilling experience to your trip. You are most likely to see the resident seal colony on the lookout point, located on the road between Kilronan and Kilmurvey. With a favourable tide, you will spot a number of adorable seals bathing in the ocean!
Stroll on Kilmurvey Beach
Kilmurvey Beach with its white sand is no less than a beach in the Caribbean. Located in a cove near Kilronan, the stunning beach is perfect for a stroll and picnic. If you are lucky to be on the beach on a lovely sunny day, then go for a dip in crystal-clear water.

Visit the Seven Churches
Known as the Seven Churches, this ancient site, in fact, consists of just two stone churches, several dwellings that belonged to monks, numerous gravestones and the remains of two high crosses. This is a fascinating place with an equally fascinating history. It’s located near the village of Eoghanacht on the west side of Inishmore. The bike ride here is a bit lengthy so plan accordingly if you’re on a Galway day tour.
