The International Comedy Club
The International Comedy Club, located on Wicklow Street, has been making people laugh for 12 years, while the pub itself is over 200 years old and retains its beautiful original Victorian décor. They’ve hosted huge acts such as Ardal O’Hanlan, Jimmy Carr and Neil Delamare. You can catch the mixture of both famous and up and coming acts every week from Thursday through to Sunday for EUR10 (students get a discounted rate of EUR8!) A good giggle guaranteed!
Battle of The Axe, Hapenny Bridge Inn
This cosy, traditional family run pub situated beside the River Liffey is not only a great place to sip on a sneaky pint but also to check out some top quality performances. On Tuesdays and Thursday nights, the Hapenny Bridge Inn plays host to open mic night and the audience gets to watch and listen to great singers/songwriters as well as, of course, stand-up comedy, improv and sketch shows. It’s one of the best comedy clubs in Dublin to catch up and coming comedians. EUR8 for adults and EUR5 for students – we promise it will be worth every (Ha)penny!
Pop the Cherry Comedy Nights, Whelans
Located on Wexford Street, Whelans has always been a great place to have a quiet drink with friends during the week, to go clubbing at the weekend and to enjoy live music. But did you know you can watch some pretty great comedy there too? Wow, this pub really has it all! They claim on their twitter to host the perfect blend of the best, new and emerging talent on the Irish scene. So, what are you waiting for? Check out Cherry Comedy Nights on Mondays from 8 pm to see what they’re talking about. Tickets will only set you back a fiver!
The Comedy Crunch, The Stags Head
The Stags Head on Dame Lane is a great Dublin pub that always has a great line-up of comedians. It’s the perfect place to spend a great evening with a few pals, drinking a pint and listening to some great acts! Comedy shows are on every Sunday, Monday and Tuesday downstairs in the bar. How much you ask? Absolutely FREE! So even if you’re broke and waiting for your next paycheck you’ve no excuse!
The Laughter Lounge
It’s definitely worth taking a trip to The Laughter Lounge on Eden Quay, the biggest regular comedy club in Dublin, and checking out their hilarious acts! What we love about them is that they’re devoted to laughing with a cause and because of that Thursdays are dedicated to fundraising and charity. Chaplin’s Comedy Club, Chaplins Bar
Last but not least, Chaplins Comedy Club, located on Temple Bar is our final recommendation for a good laugh! Hosted by Resident MC Simon O’Keeffe, since 2005 it has played host to more than 500 acts from more than twenty countries! Head down there on Friday or Saturday evening at 8 and grab yourself a seat for EUR10! There’s also a food menu offering some delicious pizzas and toasties – for those of you who burn lots of calories from laughing!
