What will we see in the Boyne Valley?

The Boyne Valley or Valley of the Kings is one of the most historic regions in Ireland. This is definitely the trip to choose if you have even a passing interest in ancient Irish history. *All tours maximum three people per aircraft. Wild Atlantic Flights have four aircrafts available. Newgrange: This megalithic structure, built before the pyramids, looks spectacular from the sky. The large circular mound is ringed by a stone circle where twice a year, at the solstice, sun pours in through the narrow passage to light up the tomb in the centre.
The Hill of Tara: It is only from the air that you can see the full circle of the ring forts at Tara and truly appreciate Ráith na Ríogh or the Fort of the King at the ancient seat of the High King of Ireland.
The Battle of the Boyne: This is where the battle between the Catholic James II and the Protestant William III of England this took place. The victory of King William marked a sea change in Irish and European history.
Slane Castle: Finally we pass over the beautiful Slane castle, once home to the Coninghams but known more recently for its annual summer concerts. Slane castle has hosted acts like Bruce Springsteen, Madonna and U2.
